PATH Program Needs

The PATH outreach program helps adults and families who are homeless, staying in an emergency shelter or living on the street. PATH staff members go where these persons stay, establish trusting relationships with them, and work to help guide them from homelessness to permanent housing and independence.

PATH workers often visit and talk with homeless clients under bridges, in bus stations, at shelters and at community meal sites. When possible, they provide needed items to help these clients stay as safe and healthy as possible in their current circumstances. You or your organization can help by donating some of these urgently-needed items.

The list of needed items varies from season to season, and also depending on what items MVHO already has on hand. For example, during the summer months, we typically have an increased need for bottled water and sunscreen.

For the coming winter months, the PATH program will need:

  • Blankets
  • Socks
  • Sleeping bags
  • Hats
  • Gloves

These items can be dropped off during business hours at our main office, located at The Opportunity Center, 907 West Fifth Street in Dayton.

For more information or to identify specific items that could be the goal of a donation drive at your office, church or school, please contact PATH Director Andrea McGriff at (937) 263-4449 ext. 410 or at
